When we consider the influence of social media, many of us imagine the beauty and fashion industries, alongside sponsored content from brands in similar consumer sectors. On the other hand, when we think of B2B and technical industries, we often imagine dull, static content that lacks the personal touch that is so essential in 2026.
Despite this perception, Centrotherm and specifically our Head of Marketing Communications, Matthew Pryce recognized a gap in the market. HVAC influencers not only exist, but they are just as important and relevant to our audience as fashion influencers are to a fashion brand.
As a result, our strategy shifted. We began focusing on user-generated content, building strong relationships with influencers, and viewing our social media presence as a personal brand rather than merely a corporate asset.
With this in mind, Centrotherm is proud to announce its participation in the Eastern Energy Expo, the leading event for the energy and comfort industries, which takes place May 17th-20th, 2026 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
While we are excited to connect with peers and visitors on the tradeshow floor, we are particularly honored to have our very own Matthew Pryce as a featured speaker during the event. Matthew will host “Complex Collaboration: Social Media and the Trades 2026” as part of the business track training program. From Tuesday, May 19th, from 9:10 to 10:10 in the Passamaquoddy/Brothertown room, attendees can learn how shifting social media landscapes affect businesses trying to keep up.
Social Media and The Trades in 2026
Once upon a time, social media wasn't a consideration for trade businesses. However, as homeowners and commercial customers discover, research, and choose their contractors, the landscape shifted. Therefore, tradespeople need to adapt as well.
Having a digital presence in 2026 plays a major role in the decision-making process across nearly every industry, including manufacturing. In his presentation, Matthew, a frequent social media collaborator and innovator; will provide some real-world connection to practical social media tools as well as an overview of the uneven topography of the concept, the platforms, and everything in between.
Key Themes Covered in the Session
- Understanding demographics on platforms
